TeenBoundariesUK aims to prevent sexual bullying and promoting positive gender relationships by challenging attitudes and promoting tolerance, understanding and cohesion between young people.

We recognise that different cultures need different perspectives to challenge negative attitudes and behaviours in order to achieve real unity.

Our research(1) with young people tell us that SRE (Sex and Relationship Education) is too focused on providing factual information on contraception and STIs (sexually transmitted infections). There is not enough attention on giving young people the skills they need to manage relationships, clarify attitudes and values and maintain boundaries, which is where we aim to help.

 We give young people the education beyond education, providing support for crucial issues such as: sexual bullying, gender, consent and dealing with social pressure.  Our organisation developed because of underlying need the need for gender equality to become a key part of education.

2007 The Gender Equality Duty was introduced on 1 April. All schools are legally required to work towards eliminating sex discrimination and harassment and to promote gender equality, by writing a Gender Equality Scheme and undertaking gender impact assessments on new policy and programmes. We are helping schools with practical solutions to implement these needs. 

• Raise awareness of the dangers of unhealthy and exploitative relationships
• Advise teens of the dangers of being involved in inappropriate or coercive relationships and sexual activity
• Increase understanding of a persons rights to be protected from all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse
• Increase confidence to report exploitation and abuse
• Develop understanding of how unwanted pressure to have sex can lead to more dangerous and exploitative situations
• Increase awareness of risks in immediate physical and virtual online environments and explore consequences of risk-taking
• Make teens aware of the risks of sexual offences, unwanted pregnancies, STI’s and how they can avoid them
• Increase their confidence and skills to negotiate pressures and enjoy safe and healthy relationships
• Prepare teens for the realistic expectations of sexual relationships
• Raise their awareness of local support agencies and how to get help
